Yangzhou University Graduate School Leaders Visit Jiangsu Xinya for a Research Survey—'Jiangsu Provincial Graduate Student Workstation' Activities Conclude Successfully

On December 8, 2022, a delegation including Wang Li, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School of Yangzhou University, and Chen Ting, Director of the Graduate School’s Professional Degree Education Office, visited Jiangsu Xinya High Voltage Testing Equipment Co., Ltd. for a research survey of the Jiangsu Provincial Graduate Student Workstation. The workstation’s academic adviser, Professor Zhu Jinrong; General Manager Chen Zhongwei; and Minister Qi Xue welcomed the delegation and joined the survey.

A Jiangsu Provincial Enterprise Graduate Student Workstation is an institution established and funded by an enterprise, which brings in a university graduate adviser to guide a graduate-student team in technical R&D. It is an important platform for industry-university-research collaboration between science and technology enterprises and universities, as well as an important innovation and practice base for graduate education.

Jiangsu Xinya High Voltage Testing Equipment Co., Ltd. and Yangzhou University have maintained a long-term, stable industry-university-research partnership since 2019, jointly conducting technical R&D and addressing key technical challenges.

The on-site research survey had two parts: a site visit and a discussion meeting. During the visit, the delegation toured Jiangsu Xinya’s R&D center and production base.

At the discussion meeting, after hearing reports on the development of the graduate student workstation from Jiangsu Xinya General Manager Chen Zhongwei and Professor Zhu Jinrong, Deputy Dean Wang Li introduced Yangzhou University’s graduate education as a whole, explained the latest management requirements for Jiangsu Provincial Graduate Student Workstations, gave high marks to Jiangsu Xinya’s progress in building its workstation, and offered requirements and recommendations.

Finally, both parties agreed that the graduate student workstation serves as a bridge for university-enterprise collaboration. Yangzhou University and Jiangsu Xinya should maintain academic communication and research exchanges, jointly train innovative high-level talent, promote integration between education and industry, and serve national science and technology needs and socioeconomic development.

Going forward, Jiangsu Xinya will continue to draw on the strengths of universities in talent, technology and resources, and promote stronger R&D collaboration between company teams and university graduate-student teams. Alongside fulfilling corporate R&D tasks, we will undertake research into frontier, innovative and theoretical topics, continually strengthen our technological innovation capabilities, develop new technologies, promote new processes, launch new products, and improve product performance, quality and business benefits.
